I love cufflinks. They’re the perfect subtle signal of sophistication. Oh I know it’s the French cuffs that make them possible but what you choose as your cuffly closure is what sets you apart. Many fellas I know agree whole-heartedly. Like hats, tie-bars, and pocket watches many people consider them unnecessary or for formalwear only. Well not me. Not real men.

Yes, I realize they’re meant to symbolize Chicago’s Michigan Avenue but as a former resident of Dearborn and Ypsilanti (both of which are connected to Detroit by Michigan Avenue), and just a general friend of Detroit and Michigan at large, I choose to see these as MY beloved Michigan Avenue. After all, who should possess the true Michigan Avenue but Michigan?
