What We Do

Branding
Approach

Brands can make a strong connection through word or image, memory or first impression, function or feeling. The best brands do all of these. JLD’s craft is developing solutions that ensure those connections are made.

Branding
Process

With observation, collaboration, and iteration we find the best way to craft each brand’s narrative and design, allowing it to connect. This process breaks down into 4 elemental parts:

  • Each client completes a brief branding primer to establish the goals and vision for the project. Next, we collaborate on a set of branding exercises to formulate the narrative and voice.

  • With the results in-hand, we prepare a custom brand strategy that identifies the brand’s positioning, values, pillars, and voice. We review this together with an exploration of identity style and aesthetic – type, color, layout, and vibe – using precedent imagery and other visual inspiration to guide design.

  • Based on the above, identity concepts are designed and presented with realistic mockups to provide intuitive context for evaluating the best solutions. These mockups also help us understand the right touchpoints for your audience.

  • The last step in the process involves creating tailored collateral pieces that match your brand’s needs, ensure an impactful connection, and drive your business forward.
