City Modern
City Modern is an 8+ acre residential development in Detroit’s historic Brush Park neighborhood. As creative director and also the primary designer on the project, I was directly responsible for much of the foundational brand work including naming, logos and identity design, web design, and much more.
The Zoyes team has worked closely with Bedrock Detroit over a period of 7 years creating print and digital collateral, a dedicated sales center with a custom architectural model, and bespoke signage and wayfinding throughout the development.

The Posters
During development of the Sales Center I created a series of modernist posters to commemorate the design-forward profile of City Modern.
The poster designs pay tribute to the International Typographic Style (Swiss Style) and artists such as Josef Müller-Brockmann and Armin Hofmann. The posters feature the brand’s distinctive color spectrum and building iconography in different ways, representing the five architectural typologies of City Modern – Historic Homes, Townhomes, Carriage Homes, The Duplettes, and The Flats – and how they were designed to integrate and co-mingle with the existing community and architecture.
